As I mentioned in the previous post, I went to Friday Night Market in North Vancouver on the second week of Friday in October. That day was probably the last day for that event.

I got some food at the other food truck, but of course, it wasn’t enough for dinner. The second food truck I chose was Vij’s Railway Express. The restaurant of his is well-known in Vancouver, but I have never been, so it was a great opportunity to try out their food. They serve Indian and/or Pakistani food.

I asked each of size and ordered two things.

Butter Chicken Schnitzel
(Panko Crusted Free Range Chicken, topped with a rich Tomato and Fenugreek cream Curry, served with cumin-infused Basmati and Nann)

As I worried, the curry was really spicy for me, but it tasted so good! Schnitzel was tender, and when I ate altogether, I felt the curry’s spiciness was getting mild. 🙂

Lamb Kebab
(Lucknow Lamb Kebab, wrapped in Nann with Basmati Onions, Pea Shoots, and Mint-Mango Chutney, served with Side Rice Puff and Chickpea Salad)

I liked this one, too. Sometimes, lamb smells strongly, yet I didn’t mind this kebab’s smell at all. I have to tell you, this chickpea salad was phenomenal! I love this. I even asked Collin if he can make at home.

Currently, Dine Out Vancouver is held. As part of this, so is Street Food City. They also seem to attend to this event. If you haven’t tried their food, you have an opportunity here.

It was a nice hot day in July. As I was out whole day and night on the previous day, I woke up later and decided to just walk around downtown Vancouver rather than go hiking. While I was walking, I looked for a place to have late lunch. I couldn’t get a better idea, so I stopped by at a food truck.

Cazba Express was on Robson street where the road was closed during summer. They have their restaurants in North Vancouver and Davie street and serve Persian food. I’m not familiar with those Middle Eastern food. Is it different from Iranian food? Anyways, I believe this is my first Persian food.

The wrap was bigger than I thought, so it filled up my stomach. The beef was tender. Their rice was long one, which is longer than long grain I had ever eaten. I would love to try Kabob next time!

After having brunch and going to the donuts shop, my friend and I walked around Gastown and downtown and also went shopping. We spent time maybe for 4 hours with doing so, and it was 9pm when we actually checked the time! We were not so hungry but decided to have some bites.

Hidden Tasting Bar and Social Lounge is at the lobby level in Westin Grand Hotel, close to the Vancouver library. Once you go in the door, you have to go upstairs. They offer sharing dishes, like tapas, as well as main dishes. They also have fitness menu, which calories are calculated as low carb.

We ordered from their share menu and fitness menu and shared.

Cornmeal Crusted Calamari
(Shaved Red Onions, Lemon Wedge, Tzatziki Dip)

I didn’t read the menu properly, which I should have, because this was covered with cornmeal and I’m not fan of it.

Peanut Chicken Wraps
(Lettuce, Rice Noodles, Bean Sprouts, Peanut Sauce, Agave Syrup, Tamari)

This is only 261 cal. (7g fat, 29g carbs, 22g protein) Although it seemed too much noodles and tasted bland itself, it filled our stomach and fine with peanut sauce.

While I was writing this post, I found they charged for a wrong dish instead of wrap, which is fine, because the bill got cheaper. 🙂
