When Collin and I went to Granville Island for lunch, we looked around stores in the market. There is Oyama meat shop, where sells various meat and cheese, and Collin said let’s get some Raclette cheese.

Raclette is a dish that you cook meat and veggies on top of the Raclette oven plate, melt cheese underneath the oven, and pour the melted cheese onto the meat and veggies.

Collin prepared by cutting ham and cooking potatoes and broccoli in boiling water.

Before eating Raclette, Collin made some appetizer, brined shrimp with home-made Ponzu.

My another friend asked me to go to Dine Out Vancouver. As I went to a few and looked at too many menus, I asked her to pick up a few restaurants, and we decided this place.

Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company pays a great attention for their ingredients, such as freshness, nutrition, local produce, free range, organic, or ocean wise! It is in multiple locations, and we went to one on Main.

They served 3-course meal for $18, appetizer, main, and dessert.

There is a restaurant where serves Japanese-style western food, called Yoshoku in Japanese, on Boundary at 29th Ave.

The last time, I went there by myself. Collin said he wanted to go for his birthday dinner. I told him that why not we invited our friends, and I contacted one of our friends if she and the other common friends wanted to join us. (He didn’t know they actually came for his “birthday” dinner and they brought presents and cake. A little surprise! 🙂 )

Some ordered appetizer, and we all ordered each main dish.

After we ate dinner, the server brought some cakes, which one of friends bought for Collin. (Actually, my friend asked me if this restaurant allowed us to bring them in, but I didn’t have answers. But I asked her if she can get some from a place where I wanted to try, if they allow. :))

You wanna know where? To be continued to the next post…
