I was at Friday Night Market in North Vancouver with my friend in the middle of June. We tried the first truck, as I wrote in the previous post. Although we were almost full with their food, we walked around and decided to try another truck.

In case you missed information, Friday Night Market in North Vancouver is (was) held at Lonsdale Quay Pier, from 5 pm to 10 pm. There are lots of food cart gathering, in addition to bakery, products, and produces.

Our second try-out was Street Meet Truck. I had known about this truck for quite a while, but I just couldn’t catch them by now. I’m not sure what they serve, maybe Italian? There is bite-size dish, full-size dish, or sweets in their menu.

We ordered one and shared.

The inside was a bit mushy, but it was still good. I would love to try another dish, maybe veggie burger?

You can check where they are or when they open for special events at the app.

So, when one of our close friends’ birthday is coming up, we get together, which is now regularly planned. And, it was my turn! I’m the one, who usually pick up some restaurants and let the birthday girl/boy choose one, and this time, I picked some and had my friends choose one. My friends decided the one that was in my list for a long time since I saw a post on someone’s blog and that I wanted to go. Cool! I was so excited that I can finally go.

The Refinery is located on Granville street, close to Helmcken street, and once you reach, you need to go upstairs. They serve tapas plates, which I thought was good to share with five of us.

We ordered from their regular menu. One of our friends cannot eat fish, so we didn’t order any seafood dishes.

For dessert, my girl friends made some custard pudding (creme caramel) and brought for me! It is one of my favorite dessert! Thank you, girls! So, these are NOT on their menu. 😉

And, for one person, who doesn’t like eating pudding, he ordered from their menu.

Flourless Chocolate Cake
(Chocolate ganache, raspberry compote, balsamic reduction coconut cream)

This is nut & gluten free!

Overall, their food was great. I definitely want to go back.

Oh, by the way, did you notice that most pictures are visible? I installed Flashlight app to my iPhone and take pictures by my digital camera, using Flashlight on iPhone. 😀

Back in September, it was a birthday month of two of my friends. So, I picked some restaurants and had my friends pick one. They chose Trafalgars Bistro.

It is located in Kitsilano. I have been there for Oceanwise celebration and wondered if their regular menu taste good, too. There is $30 3-course dinner as well, which you can choose one appy from soup, green salad, or caesar salad, one entree, and one dessert from Sweet Obsession where is their sister restaurant at the next door.

I can’t remember what kind of soup it was… But my friend (not only her but we all) didn’t like it and asked to change to the other soup.

Caesar Salad (as a part of 3-course)

Octopus Carpaccio Salad
(Lemon Vinaigrette, Arugula & Mustard Greens)

I ordered this salad and really liked it. No longer in the menu, though.

Seasonal Salmon, Pistachio Crusted Coho Salmon (as a part of 3-course)
(Celeriac & Apple Remoulade, Carrot Puree, Parsnip Crisps)

Pacific Northwest Halibut
(Israeli Couscous, Sea Asparagus, Side Strip Prawn, Cherry Tomato, Preserved Meyer Lemon)

I ordered this dish. Although I generally don’t like couscous, this Israeli one is like pasta so that I could eat. It was surprising discovery. 🙂

I ordered this. It was puffy pastry, like hard version of cream puff.

As they have a sister restaurant, Sweet Obsession, there are too many to choose from. I wish they have pictures on menu so that we don’t have to ask for each dessert’s details. 😉
