When all events seemed to be done by the middle of February, I asked Collin where he wanted to go for brunch on weekend. His answer was De Dutch. Really? I wanted to go somewhere new, but oh well. I can go if he really wants to go there so much.

De Dutch Pannekoek House is in a few places in Vancouver, and the place we went was close to Canada Place in Coal Harbour.

I couldn’t finish the toast. I mean, three slices of bread for myself is too much, which I should have realized that by now. 😛

Note that the service this time was horrible. No drink order taken for 10 min, and no checking for food quality or coffee refill. The restaurant wasn’t busy to me at all.

On my second visit for the event, Street Food City II, at Vancouver Art Gallery, Collin and I tried a few things from multiple trucks. Since he wanted to have brunch, I suggested we go to this truck, Yolk’s Breakfast. When we were in line, I noticed a famous food blogger, Mijune-san, was in front of us. We talked to her, and she recommended their special dish.

When I looked at their website at the night before, there was a picture of this special dish, but I couldn’t find it on their menu, and now I understand why I couldn’t! Although I wanted to have pancakes, we went for the special, since Mijune-san suggested.

I’m not a fan of mixing savory and sweet taste together, but I liked this one. Well, Collin didn’t. So, you’re gonna find out if you like or not.

On the previous day of my birthday in December, I asked Collin to have brunch with me on my birthday. I was thinking to go to Market again, as I liked them when we went on his birthday. But I also wanted to try a new restaurant. So, I chose one from my list. 🙂

Forage is a new restaurant after O’Doul’s in Listel Hotel in downtown Vancouver. They serve food using fresh local ingredients. There are bar counter and tables, and at least 30 people can seat.

We ordered from their brunch menu.

Collin had already put milk before I took a picture. 😦

My choice, Buttermilk Pancakes

Collin’s choice, Classic Benny

And, some pictures of interior.

Food was good. Just small note of what I didn’t like was when I eat pancake as sweet, I don’t want to taste potatoes or bacon. (They probably use same flipping for cooking savory and sweet. I understand that, but I just didn’t want any savory taste in that morning.)

I looked at their site, and the price seems slightly up since then.
