In the early July, Collin had a hard day and was feeling down. To try to cheer him up, I decided to take him out and have a nice meal. I heard that this restaurant had finally moved and opened at a new location, and when I checked the opening hour, I found that they opened for lunch on weekends! That made me make an online reservation right away for the coming weekend.

Miku Restaurant is nearby Canada Place, close to Waterfront Station. The new location is much brighter and the view from the restaurant is nice. Besides, the ceiling is not high as the old place so that you can hear the conversation with your friends. The menu, I believe, hasn’t changed, although I had never been for lunch at the old location. Aburi (sear-flamed) is their specialty.

We ordered from their lunch menu.

Miku Zen included Miso Soup, so we ordered one more.

Hamachi Carpaccio
(Thinly sliced Yellowtail, flame seared, Citrus Avocado Sauce)

Hamachi was fresh, and the sauce was great with the Sashimi.

Miku Zen
(A selection of seasonal items chosen by the chef; 4 items from their kitchen, 5 pieces from their Sushi bar & Miso Soup)

4 items were Saikyo Miso baked sable fish, Jidori chicken Nanban, Aburi Tuna, and hearts & greens farm Tofu salad. You can find them in Zensai (appy) or Shusai (entree) sections.

5 pieces of Aburi Sushi were Nigiri Sushi with Hirame (flounder), Boiled Ebi (prawn), Toro (fatty tuna), and two pieces of salmon Oshi Sushi.

This was a great dish that you can sample various aspect of their food. There were quite a lot of food so that we shared every single one, and we now know which dish he or I want to order to eat in a full plate next time. Well, all of them tasted good, which is a problem. (We can’t order all!)

Red Wave Roll Sushi
(Crab, Avocado, wrapped in Red Tuna, Masatake Sauce)

This roll was our favorite Sushi when we ate at the old location. It still is!

And, extra pictures of the restaurant interior and the view from there.

Their menu is or can be adjusted for vegetarian or gluten free. The pricing is high, but it is worth eating on a special occasion. I think I did make Collin happy! 🙂

Collin and I wanted to go to Miku since they opened, and we finally made it. I personally wanted to go for lunch, but they are not open for lunch on weekends.

Their specialty is Aburi (sear-flamed), and it sounds good.

We ordered some drink first. Tantakatan Japanese Shiso Shochu and special cocktail, First Kiss.
