The last Saturday in October was still nice weather. It was already cool down, but sunny. My friends and I, and a little dog, went hiking in Anmore/Port Moody area. It was a short walk but we all enjoyed the time. We didn’t bring lunch and we all were starving when we came back to where we started. One of the friends called her husband to order Sushi for us, and we had it at her place.

Sushi was ordered from Sushi Bar Kilala. It is a Japanese-owned store. I have never been there, so I don’t know the size of the restaurant.

Deluxe Nigiri (16 pcs)
(3pcs Tekka Maki, 3pcs Kappa Maki, Uni, Ikura, Surf Clam, Amaebi, Hamachi, Salmon, Tuna, Saba, Tako, Unagi, and egg omelet)

This was quite a volume! Each of Nigiri piece was big, and fish pieces were fresh. I was full and satisfied after eat! Too bad, the place is not near my house.

In the early October, the sky was clear up, and it was nice to be out. For the weekend brunch, what Collin was craving for was pancake at De Dutch. It is called Pannekoek and like a crepe. We like their special bacon.

De Dutch Pannekoek House is in a few locations in Vancouver, and we went the one at Canada Place in Coal Harbour. When you go to the harbour, find a big raindrop object, and turn left along the inlet. Eventually, you will find the restaurant.

They serve not only pancake, but they also have breakfast menu, egg benedict, french toast, etc.

We ordered from their Pannekoek menu. He made some complicated request for his order, asking to put pancake in a separate plate from savory and also to add fruit topping, which ended up causing mixing up and misunderstanding.

My choice, Pannekoek with Pear + Maple Syrup

His fruit topping was on my plate, which was also what he meant. He meant something like fruit compote, not fresh fruit topping. The server was happy to replace it for him. Anyways, I liked my pear and maple syrup choice.

Collin’s choice, Pannekoek Boer’s (Farmer’s) (#8)
(Hash Browns, Ham, DeBakon, Bratwurst, Eggs and Hollandaise)

This time, the service was great. It was a busy time, but the food came out quickly, too.

Pricing seems to be slightly up, compared to the last time.

Another meeting day. The team went out for lunch at the same place. It was a sunny beautiful day and even hot sitting outside in June.

Browns Socialhouse is located in the Lynn Valley Village in North Vancouver. Although they serve various food, I tend to choose something with seafood.

My choice, Almost Famous Blackened Fish Burger with Yam Fries
(Pacific Halibut, Crisp Coleslaw, Chef’s dressing)

I didn’t take pictures of the others’. The halibut was tasty because it was in season, and yam fries were always great. It is a good thing that they make food consistent.
