Beside the last two places, I had to check the menu of one of my favorite restaurants for Dine Out Vancouver. When I looked at their dine out menu, I really liked it and asked my friends, whom I went there with for Dine Out Vancouver last year, and one of them was excited to go there with me. 🙂

Fishworks serves seafood with reasonable price and decent amount, and moreover, it tastes good. It is located at Lower Lonsdale in North Vancouver and in a walking distance from Lonsdale Quay Seabus station. The dine out 3-course meal was provided by $28.

My friend liked this when we went there in their Halibut Festival, so she ordered again. 🙂

My appy, Dungeness Crab
(In Coconut Soup with Enoki Mushrooms)

As you might have noticed, the bowl was bigger! It seemed that the chef gave me extra, maybe because I come often and take my friends. 😉

My friend liked her appy, as she loved cilantro. (I have no comments, as I don’t like cilantro. :P) I was worried about my appy, because I don’t like coconut texture, but it was smooth soup with kick of spice and I really liked that.

Her entree, Ling Cod
(Jerusalem Artichoke and Winter Vegetable Nage)

I tasted some, and the ling code was cooked perfectly and nage was seasoned just right. Jerusalem artichoke was texture like potato and interestingly good.

My entree, Nova Scotia Lobster Tail
(Smoked Bacon, Chowder Sauce)

Here we go again! Thanks to the chef! He served two lobster tails on my plate. I let my friend taste one. 😀

Her dessert, Poached Pear
(Toasted Hazelnut, Vanilla Ice Cream)

My dessert, Chocolate Mousse
(with Fresh Raspberries)

I have heard they changed the recipe, so I got to order it. It was good and light, not too sweet, compared to the last year’s Dine out, so I finished to eat.

Oh, I’m glad I went there for Dine Out this year. I enjoyed much more than last year’s Dine Out.

I had bought a groupon deal for this restaurant early this year, which was 10-course seafood tasting menu. Spring and early summer have always a lot of events going on, so I kind of pushed the plan for this out. Yet, it was expired soon, so I had to plan.

This time, the experience with C restaurant wasn’t good even starting. First, their Groupon required to call them instead of online booking, but their website doesn’t say when they open. I tried to call day and night, but auto response answered, so I ended up leaving a message for reservation as it said. It said they would call back, which never happened even on the late night before the reservation day, so I called again to re-confirm. A man answered and said that they didn’t call me back because they were full. Really? Is that how it works? And, they could put us earlier time, but if we came late, as there was a reservation for the table after us, our time would be in rush. Seriously… So, you try to bring food as fast as possible and kick us out? Anyways, as I had to use the Groupon, I booked the earlier time for next day.

On the booked day, Collin and I arrived on time, which is dinner opening time. We were seated while no one was there yet, and we ordered some drink and ordered one each from the menu if there was alternative. The server came back, saying he forgot what Collin’s drink was. Now, when the expediter brought the first dish, we realized the server didn’t understand what we ordered. (So, we missed lobster bisque. :() Collin asked again, this time to the expediter, that we wanted to taste each one if there was alternative.

Food was great, though.

My friend in Japan planned to visit Vancouver a few weeks ago, and I sent some restaurant information based on her preference before she came. She chose two of them for dinner while she was still in Japan, but we decided to choose which one we go to on her arrival day.

When she called me after she arrived, I asked her what she felt like eating. Her answer was seafood, but not raw, and she told me she was starving. I was thinking where to go, somewhere not far from the centre of downtown, and I took her to North Vancouver, as she didn’t have a plan to go there.

Fishworks is in walking distance from Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, so it takes 20 min from Waterfront station in downtown, using Seabus. They currently offer Halibut Festival menu as well until May 15.

We ordered from their regular dinner menu.

We were too full to eat dessert, and she was happy for having had tasty seafood. 🙂
