On the last weekend in October, I had a plan to meet my hiking friend. It had been almost two months since our last hiking together, as our timing wasn’t met or the weather wasn’t good. This time also, we didn’t go hiking. Instead, we planned to have tea.

As I mentioned a few times before, Sunday isn’t good for going cafe or restaurants. Anyways, the first two places in Gastown where we tried were closed due to Sunday. So, we went to Acme Cafe. It is located on Hastings Street, close to Woodward’s building. They open even between lunch and dinner time, which is great.

We both ordered a piece of pie.

I looked at the post on my previous visit, and I realized I ate the same thing! Although this lemon pie is good, I would like to try something different next time.

Note that the price is slightly up since the last visit.

This cafe restaurant had been in my list for long time. I just didn’t have a chance, as they are always busy and have a long line up every time I try. This time, I just went shopping around the area after hiking and decided to have snack.

Acme Cafe is located on Hastings Street in Gastown / Chinatown area. For my snack, I was thinking what I should have, savory like Quiche or dessert like pie. Having talked to their staff, I decided to go with pie!

I like to try their Quiche next time. And looking at their site, I found they have milkshake, which I like to have, too!

I wanted to go there, since I saw them on TV show, called “You Gotta Eat Here” of Food Network. I liked the dance with the host and a girl from the restaurant. 🙂 Anyways, as Collin’s work shift was later than usual, we had time to go there.

Tomahawk Restaurant is in North Vancouver. If you take a bus from Lonsdale Quay, it takes 15 min to the nearest bus stop. They don’t take names for waiting, so you just have to wait in line. We were there past 1:00pm and waited for about 20 min to be seated. However, it took about 30 min to deliver the food, so if you are in hurry, you’d better come back later.

We ordered from their breakfast menu. I wanted to order pancake, but the server said it’s only available before 12:00.

Oh, although they had a sign of no photos, I believe I’m allowed to take pictures of our food…

Before even going there, Collin said he wanted to eat their bacon. Well, their Yukon style bacon was so good! Not greasy, not chewy, not thick, but tasty! And, I really liked yam fries.
