As I wrote, Collin and I went to De Dutch for the weekend brunch. After we paid, I looked at the receipt, there was an interesting statement written.

“Enjoy a LEONIDAS fresh Belgian Chocolate absolutely FREE today, on per receipt. Also 15% discount on everything, including flown in fresh French pastries & chocolates.”

I asked Collin right away what Leonidas means. He said it must be a store name. I wondered where the store was, and while we were walking back to Canada Place street along Convention Centre, I saw the name! It was a tiny cafe & store at Coal Harbour for chocolates or stuff.

We went inside and showed the receipt, and I got a piece of chocolate for free. It was, I believe, hazelnut chocolate. This piece was quite big. I forgot to take a picture of the showcase, but there were a lot of kinds of chocolate pieces. Also, there were macarons, too.

Collin ordered this hot chocolate, as he didn’t want to leave the cafe without buying anything. The hot chocolate was quite sweet.

I added this place to my list for gift occasion.

Collin and I went skiing on Whistler mountain on the next day. Snow was really great but heavy, so we quickly got tired even before 3pm and decided to have some break.

On Whistler mountain, besides Mountain Market and Pika’s, there are two coffee bars, one on the main floor, and the other on the second floor at Roundhouse. The one on the second floor seems to have a name, called Peak Corner Bar. You can find the sign saying Spirit Bear Coffee Company.

They offer not only coffee or espresso, but also snacks, such as croissant, muffin, or cookies. In addition, liquor shots.

We ordered from the Hot Beverage menu.

Mmm. Hot chocolate is the best after skiing. It was just right, not too sweet and not watery.

Collin and I walked along Ambleside beach, as planned, after having brunch at the bakery cafe. From the cafe, it took 30 min or so to reach Park Royal, and he enjoyed looking around one shop to another. Eventually, I was kind of dehydrated and we were looking for a tea store.

Murchie’s Tea & Coffee is in the Park Royal shopping mall, which I didn’t think you can order a drink to go. (I thought they just sell tea leaves.)

I ordered from their cappuccino bar menu.

For some reason, they put two pack of tea leaves and also the water was extremely hot, so I couldn’t drink right away and my green tea got bitter by the hot water. Here is an explanation for the best water temperature to make a green tea.
