My friend sent me a text around 7:30 pm and asked if I had dinner. I said not yet, and we decided to go out for dinner. She was still at work and said that she was hungry and tired, so we were looking at some place close to where both of us were.

We found a place on Kingsway, between Joyce street and Boundary, Cattle Cafe. They serve Chinese food, maybe more likely Hong Kong style food. I wasn’t familiar with those food and their order system, and when we were seated, I was just looking around for a while, to see the others’ order and to catch our server.

Anyways, after a while, we finally placed order.

I can’t remember what exactly she ordered. She said she would like to eat pasta, so this must have spaghetti or penne underneath.

This dish description was similar to Japanese Yoshoku food, Doria, which is my favorite, so I ordered. But it tasted differently. The dish may not look like huge, but there were quite a lot of food. We both took some home.

We talked a lot, and when we checked the time, it was past 11 o’clock! Yet, surprisingly, people kept coming in at this late time.

My friends and I had dinner in East Vancouver, and we still needed to talk about hiking plan. (Also possibly to have some dessert. :P) The restaurant where we went was in the middle of the resident area, so it was not easy to find a cafe. When I looked around, I found a place saying cafe at the corner.

Golden Oscar Cafe & Restaurant is at 22nd Avenue next to a super market. As soon as we walked in, I asked if we would just have only coffee or dessert. The server just smiled, so I took it as yes. The restaurant was quit comfortable to stay and talk for a while, as the server didn’t disturb us or check on us as well as the box seat was comfy.

We just ordered tea and coffee from their dinner menu, because there weren’t any dessert that we wanted to go for.

My coffee tasted fine. But my friends didn’t seem to like their tea.

And an extra picture of the restaurant exterior.
