As I wrote, Collin and I went to De Dutch for the weekend brunch. After we paid, I looked at the receipt, there was an interesting statement written.

“Enjoy a LEONIDAS fresh Belgian Chocolate absolutely FREE today, on per receipt. Also 15% discount on everything, including flown in fresh French pastries & chocolates.”

I asked Collin right away what Leonidas means. He said it must be a store name. I wondered where the store was, and while we were walking back to Canada Place street along Convention Centre, I saw the name! It was a tiny cafe & store at Coal Harbour for chocolates or stuff.

We went inside and showed the receipt, and I got a piece of chocolate for free. It was, I believe, hazelnut chocolate. This piece was quite big. I forgot to take a picture of the showcase, but there were a lot of kinds of chocolate pieces. Also, there were macarons, too.

Collin ordered this hot chocolate, as he didn’t want to leave the cafe without buying anything. The hot chocolate was quite sweet.

I added this place to my list for gift occasion.

When we and our friends had a birthday dinner party, we also gave the birthday girl and boy some gifts, and they both looked happy about it. For the return, the birthday girl gave us some gift! Oh, she didn’t have to do that, but it was nice of her.

She got from Beta5 Chocolates. It is on Industrial Street, close to Main Skytrain station.

The tastes were Banana, Earl Grey, Whisky (on the left), I don’t know the purple covered, and Imperial Stout, and Olive Oil (on the right). And, you see the bottom? That is the flat chocolate bar!

My friend and I went for afternoon tea last Sunday in August. After we enjoyed the tea time, she said there was one place that she wanted to go before heading home. It was Beta5 Chocolates. I have heard of the name and known the approximate location, but we missed the turn to Industrial Street from Main street, because buses were running and we couldn’t see it. We approached from Terminal Avenue.

The store was like a warehouse or a storage unit, and if there was no sandwich board on the road, we could have missed the store. They sell not only chocolates but ice cream, too.

She got some for her parents. I didn’t buy any, since I had enough sweets at afternoon tea. 🙂 This place is now in my list for when any gift occasion comes up.
