In the early October, the sky was clear up, and it was nice to be out. For the weekend brunch, what Collin was craving for was pancake at De Dutch. It is called Pannekoek and like a crepe. We like their special bacon.

De Dutch Pannekoek House is in a few locations in Vancouver, and we went the one at Canada Place in Coal Harbour. When you go to the harbour, find a big raindrop object, and turn left along the inlet. Eventually, you will find the restaurant.

They serve not only pancake, but they also have breakfast menu, egg benedict, french toast, etc.

We ordered from their Pannekoek menu. He made some complicated request for his order, asking to put pancake in a separate plate from savory and also to add fruit topping, which ended up causing mixing up and misunderstanding.

His fruit topping was on my plate, which was also what he meant. He meant something like fruit compote, not fresh fruit topping. The server was happy to replace it for him. Anyways, I liked my pear and maple syrup choice.

This time, the service was great. It was a busy time, but the food came out quickly, too.

Pricing seems to be slightly up, compared to the last time.

After Collin and I came back from Whistler, snow kept falling in Whistler due to a snow storm, although it was the beginning of March. I thought it actually had snowed too much to clear the avalanche control in order for Whistler Blackcomb to open the alpine chair lifts, so I decided to skip to go skiing on that Saturday. Instead, I asked Collin if he wanted to go somewhere for brunch.

He had wanted to go Wildebeest for quite a bit, so we went there for the first time. It was after 1:30pm and there were lots of seats open. They are located across from SFU at Woodward’s and London Drugs in Gastown, and they don’t open for lunch, only for brunch.

We ordered from their brunch menu.

This donuts were so good! I tasted some liquor, so I asked our server. She explained what they were, and Collin spelled for me, because I had never heard of it.

The taste was good, but a little bit pricy? Yet, I would like to go back for the donuts! 😉 Collin kept saying he wanted to go there for dinner, so we would go one day.

When all events seemed to be done by the middle of February, I asked Collin where he wanted to go for brunch on weekend. His answer was De Dutch. Really? I wanted to go somewhere new, but oh well. I can go if he really wants to go there so much.

De Dutch Pannekoek House is in a few places in Vancouver, and the place we went was close to Canada Place in Coal Harbour.

My choice, French Toast Canuck Toast
(Eggs and DeBakon)

I couldn’t finish the toast. I mean, three slices of bread for myself is too much, which I should have realized that by now. 😛

Note that the service this time was horrible. No drink order taken for 10 min, and no checking for food quality or coffee refill. The restaurant wasn’t busy to me at all.
