The first Sunday of May was so sunny and warm! I was gonna just go shopping and headed to Metrotown on foot, but it was so nice to be outside, so I sent a text to my friend if she wanted to walk in the evening. After I did some shopping in the mall, I met up with her and went to Burnaby Lake for walking. We walked for about 2 hours or so and decided to have dinner.

The area doesn’t really have any restaurants, besides, it was Sunday, so we drove toward Vancouver and went in White Spot. I didn’t realize this location was across the Gilmore Skytrain station, until we left there and my friend took me home. They serve variety of food, salad, burger, Italian, Canadian food, i.e. Poutine, and so on.

We ordered from their lunch & dinner menu to share.

Sweet Potato Fries
(Cajun seasoned & served with Chipotle Mayo)

People here say sweet potato and yam are same. They’re not! 😀 Well, this one is yam fries. I liked the crunchiness of the fries’ surface.

Wild Pacific Salmon Fillet Burger
(Lettuce, tomato, red onion & our lemon basil aioli, served with Caesar salad)

I’ve heard from my other friend that salmon burger tastes good. It does! I mean, I didn’t expect the tastiness at this kind of chain restaurant.

The Spot’s Salad your way
(Chargrilled Chicken with the Spot’s salad includes artisan greens, Amorosa tomato basil salsa, cranberries, sunflower & pumpkin seeds with honey sherry dressing, served with garlic panini bread)

The salad was OK. My friend didn’t like the chicken, which was too dry.

This restaurant is in various locations, so I will go back if I’m hungry.

I had a meeting again in North Vancouver. We wanted to eat out for lunch somewhere different, but we couldn’t think of any places and went to this place.

Browns Socialhouse is located in the Lynn Valley Village at the corner of Lynn Valley Road and Mountain HWY. As I mentioned before, they serve variety foods, including healthy choices.

My choice, Deluxe Tuna Club Burger with Yam Fries

By the time I got donuts as wished, it was 6 o’clock. Since I was tired from hiking, I thought I might as well have small bite there, otherwise, my dinner would be 8 or 9pm at home. Wearing hiking outfits with some dirt, I didn’t want to go to any fancy or big places.

Tony’s Fish & Oyster Cafe was the best choice in that case. Their place is like a cozy cafe but serves proper meal and alcohol as well. Besides, the menu says best fish & chips. It is close to the entrance of Granville Island.

I ordered from their regular menu.

One Piece Cod Fish & Chips
(served with Coleslaw and Tartar Sauce)

I was planning to have small bites, but I ended up ordering both, which totally filled up my stomach. Well, a good thing was that I didn’t need to make dinner at home. 🙂

Unfortunately, their best fish & chips wasn’t the best for me. I removed greasy and thick dough quite a bit and also the fish was pretty dry.
