I was on Whistler mountain in the middle of December. It was still in the early season and also there wasn’t much snow fallen, so the higher alpine lifts weren’t open. Eventually I got bored, because I didn’t have many runs to ski on. I joined the complimentary tour on the mountain, which mountain hosts will take you to any available runs to introduce runs and views, based on your riding level.

After the two-hour worth of tour, my legs were so tired. I went back to Roundhouse and decided to have late lunch just before closing the kitchen. There is food available at Mountain Market on the second floor.

I ordered from the noodle bowl menu.

Looking at the picture of the menu below, the noodle bowl wasn’t available for Kids menu? Well, anyways, I was able to have it. For the noodle bowl, you can choose, one kind of noodles, one kind of protein, and one kind of broth. You can go for vegetarian choice or gluten free. I chose egg noodle, seasoned chicken, and Japanese Miso.

As a Kids Size, in addition to the noodle bowl, you can choose three of any combinations from fruits drink, and snack. For fruits, there were choices, orange or apple. For drink, a pack of juice, milk, etc. For snack, carrots, Edamame, or yogurt.

It was nice that we still had time to spend together on that weekend, even after Collin and I enjoyed afternoon tea. Since it was his birthday weekend, I wanted to get something special for him, so we went shopping in Kitsilano area. Time went by, and we decided to have dinner around the area. I suggested eating Yakitori at a Japanese restaurant, but they’re gone! There was a new restaurant instead. We went back where we walked from and went in this restaurant.

The Noodle Box is on 4th Avenue, close to Burrard Street. They serve Southeast Asian cuisine. They are a casual restaurant that I could even say it’s a fast food restaurant. I have been to the restaurant in different locations, but I still don’t feel comfortable when I order. 😛

On some dishes, you can choose the spice level.

You can choose protein from chicken, beef, pork of Tofu. Prawns and free-run chicken are available with additional cost.

I ate chow mein before, so I chose this fried rice. There was some spice or ingredient that I didn’t like, but I couldn’t have figured out. I preferred chow mein.

Back at the end of November, it was the first skiing for me this season! Both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains were open earlier than ever, and there were lots of snow falling at that time. Well, in that case, I was gonna go!

As I went with my co-worker, who is a snowboarder, we were riding on Blackcomb mountain. After having so much fun with lots of untouched powder snow, we had some rest at Glacier Creek, where is at the bottom of Jersey Cream and Glacier lift chairs.

I ordered from noodle bowl section. I really like the idea this Kids Size meal! Because I cannot eat regular size sometimes, and with this kids meal, if you can’t finish, you can just put the rest in your bag. There used to be only on a couple of choices, but now on many choices.

For noodle bowl, you choose a type of noodle (wheat egg noodle or rice noodle), a protein (seasoned chicken, peppered prawns, or grilled Tofu), and a broth (Vietnamese Pho or Japanese Miso).
