The conversation with my friends for Dine Out Vancouver was continued, even after we decided to go to a restaurant for lunch. We wanted to go somewhere for dinner as well, but there were so many choices. Using all the communication tool (Facebook message, text, phone), we finally came to a decision. 😀

We decided to go to Yaletown L’Antipasto. They serve Italian food, located in Yaletown, as you can see their name. We all had never been there, so it was a good try-out with $28 Dine Out dinner.

We all ordered from their Dine Out menu.

Antipasti, Bresaola

Antipasti, Saute di Vongole
(Manilla Clams, sauted in white wine, extra virgin olive oil, garlic & chillies)

Both antipasti was good. Yet, I think my Vongole dish wasn’t so hot. Well, the taste was good, and the server brought some bread for us to have the broth with.

Primi, Pappardelle with Mixed Meat Ragu
(Beef Tenderloin, Italian Sausages, Chicken Breast & Boneless short ribs braised in a Tomato Sauce)

Primi, Risotto alla Pescatora
(Arborio rice, simmered with Tiger Prawns, Mussels, Clams & Calamari)

Risotto was strange. When my friend and I started eating, it was so good. Then after one third was eaten, more we continued to eat, saltier we tasted. At the end, we both needed to drink water and I was eager for my dessert.

Dolci, Lavender Creme Brulee

Oh, I liked the panna cotta. And, my friend really liked the creme brulee, too.

For the last week of Dine Out Vancouver, I chose this restaurant for us, because we had never been there, their regular menu is expensive for a try-out, and the Dine Out menu looked good, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try them out with 3-course dinner for $38 at this event. Although I made a reservation before the event started, the dinner time was almost fully booked and I had to book for earlier time. However, Collin found out he had to work on that evening at the last minute, so we changed to 9:15pm.

Coast Restaurant is one of restaurants of Glowbal Collection group, such as Glowbal Grill or Italian Kitchen. Coast is located on Alberni street, where lots of restaurants and cafe are nearby. They serve seafood including oyster.

We both ordered the same appy. Collin loved it and asked me to take a picture of the scallop for some reason. :O Of course, I liked it, too.

His entree, Grilled Alberta Beef “Oscar Style”
(Blistered Peppers, Prawn Bearnaise)

He was upset with the pepper that was so hot that he couldn’t taste well after that. (The server didn’t warn anything, and also Collin didn’t read the menu well, as usual. 😛 I didn’t know how you say it in English until he complained, but I’m familiar with Shishito pepper, which I can barely eat, because I can’t take that kind heat well.)

My entree, Grilled B.C. Snapper, and Add-on Rosemary Scallops
(Vegetables a la Grecque, Citrus Beurre Blanc)

Surprisingly, snapper portion was huge! I expected the half size. Oh, no, I didn’t complain. 🙂

Dark Chocolate Turtle Cake
(Raspberry pop rocks Macaron, Salted Caramel Fudge, Pecan Praline)

There were no choices on dessert. I’m not a fan of Macaron, but this was fun to eat! Pop rocks candy was on it, which I used to buy when I was small. 🙂

I was happy with all my choices! We want to try their regular menu on a special occasion.

Beside the last two places, I had to check the menu of one of my favorite restaurants for Dine Out Vancouver. When I looked at their dine out menu, I really liked it and asked my friends, whom I went there with for Dine Out Vancouver last year, and one of them was excited to go there with me. 🙂

Fishworks serves seafood with reasonable price and decent amount, and moreover, it tastes good. It is located at Lower Lonsdale in North Vancouver and in a walking distance from Lonsdale Quay Seabus station. The dine out 3-course meal was provided by $28.

My friend liked this when we went there in their Halibut Festival, so she ordered again. 🙂

Her appy, Qualicum Beach Scallops

My appy, Dungeness Crab
(In Coconut Soup with Enoki Mushrooms)

As you might have noticed, the bowl was bigger! It seemed that the chef gave me extra, maybe because I come often and take my friends. 😉

My friend liked her appy, as she loved cilantro. (I have no comments, as I don’t like cilantro. :P) I was worried about my appy, because I don’t like coconut texture, but it was smooth soup with kick of spice and I really liked that.

Her entree, Ling Cod
(Jerusalem Artichoke and Winter Vegetable Nage)

I tasted some, and the ling code was cooked perfectly and nage was seasoned just right. Jerusalem artichoke was texture like potato and interestingly good.

My entree, Nova Scotia Lobster Tail
(Smoked Bacon, Chowder Sauce)

Here we go again! Thanks to the chef! He served two lobster tails on my plate. I let my friend taste one. 😀

Her dessert, Poached Pear
(Toasted Hazelnut, Vanilla Ice Cream)

My dessert, Chocolate Mousse
(with Fresh Raspberries)

I have heard they changed the recipe, so I got to order it. It was good and light, not too sweet, compared to the last year’s Dine out, so I finished to eat.

Oh, I’m glad I went there for Dine Out this year. I enjoyed much more than last year’s Dine Out.
