I was so busy with work, and on one Friday, I was waiting for co-workers to finish their parts. When my friend sent me a text message in the afternoon if I can go for dinner with her, I couldn’t say if I can for sure. Well, in my mind, I thought I could go. 🙂 At 7pm, I sent her a text back saying I can, as there was no progress seen on their parts.

Thinking about where to go, I asked her if she wanted to go to Italian. The restaurant was Campagnolo Roma on Hastings street, close to Nanaimo street. Their original place is on Main street, and this is a sister restaurant.

We ordered from their special and dinner menu.

Burrata, Pane Bianco, Olive Oil from Special

I love Burrata cheese! I liked their bread, too.

Tagliatelle, Octopus, Olive Oil, Basil, Calabrian Chili from Special

This is not with white or tomato sauce, just seasoned with chili and salt, but it still tasted good.

Margherita Pizza
(Fior di latte, Tomato Sauce, Basil)

Margherita Pizza at Campagnolo Roma in Vancouver

This pizza had interesting texture. The edge was crunchy rather than crispy, but the dough was chewy a little bit. The taste was good, although this was not my favorite pizza.

Americano

Oh, I forgot this was an Italian restaurant. The Americano had Italian taste, sour! I don’t really like sourness in coffee.

And, we ordered dessert to share.

Maple Syrup Panna Cotta
(Rhubarb Preserves, Biscotti)

Mmm, this Panna Cotta was so good! I will come back even just for the dessert!

After Collin and I went to Vancouver Aquarium, we walked on the trail along Lost Lagoon towards Second Beach near Stanley Park Pool. By the time when we got back to Denman Street, it was dinner time and he wanted to eat out.

We kept walking on Denman Street to find some place, as it was a holiday. We ended up going to Nook where I went with my friend about a week before. Oh, well, it was fine, as this was first time for him to go there.

We ordered from both their regular and special menu.

Wow, I just realized that water was expensive. :O

Antipasto, Burrata Cheese & Prosciutto with Crostini, from Special menu

The quantity of prosciutto looked way less than the last time. Well, sorry, Collin.

Spaghetti Bolognese

The restaurant is dark, so all pasta looked same, although what I ordered this time was not same as the last time. I don’t remember this Bolognese taste. I don’t know why. Drunk? 😛

As I mentioned in the previous post, my friend and I went to a cafe after hiking. We stayed there until the cafe was closed! (I mean, we didn’t notice there were nobody else until we asked what time their closing time was. ;p) Anyways, it was almost dinner time when we left West Vancouver, so we decided to have dinner.

She told me about this restaurant, Nook, before, but I didn’t have a chance to go there, as it is a bit far to go to Denman street for dinner. So, I asked if she wanted to go there with this opportunity. Nook is an Italian restaurant, and they have counter tables and a few individual tables. When you go in and tables are full, you just write your name on the chalkboard beside the entrance.

We ordered from both their regular and special menu.

And, some pictures of the restaurant exterior.

The restaurant was dark so that pictures are not good, but the food was all great.
