Compared to hiking, walking for shopping makes me tired more. Well, I went to Shiatsu after having coffee. Once it’s done, I continued to look for a gift for my friend’s birthday. Eventually, time was up, I mean, it was almost 9 o’clock, and I thought I should have dinner somewhere.

Shizenya is located on Hornby street in downtown Vancouver, close to Robson Square. There is another store on Broadway, which I have never been. They serve organic and healthy Japanese food, using brown rice. Generally, I don’t like brown rice, but I can eat their food with no problem. At the last visit, I asked about quinoa dishes, and quinoa stuff is on their feature menu now!

This roll is always good! I ordered last time, too.

Quinoa & Wild Rice Tofu Salad

I wasn’t sure what wild rice was, although I asked the server, so I ordered this. Well, I seem not to like them. Sorry, those are not my thing.

Anago (salt-water eel) is rare to have. Anago is sweet and softer than Unagi, if I have to describe the difference. Both Nigiri was good.

I have to make a note here that it looks like they open Sundays now!

I had an errand to do on a weekday and went to downtown Vancouver. After I’m done with what I had to do, I stopped by at Fujiya, because it was just before 11:00 am, and I thought all Bento might have arrived at the store. And, I was right. The clerk was placing Bento in the shelves.

One of Fujiya Japanese grocery stores is on Pender street. The store is tiny, but there are three or four seats along window counter tables to eat in. It might be difficult to find this place, as you don’t see from the street. Once you found Quisno’s, walk into the building. The store is next to Quisno’s, beside a dry cleaning store (I think).

I chose a vegetarian Bento for lunch.

There are lots of ingredients as usual. The rice was Sushi brown rice. I didn’t know that, so I warmed it up before eating! 😛

I mentioned in the previous post that Collin and I went skiing to Whistler and we had early lunch around 11:00 am. We did riding until almost the lift closing. When we got to Whistler Village, we were both tired and needed to have something to eat. It was almost 4:00 pm, so I thought this would be supper. (Well, when we got home, he said he needed proper dinner! :O)

We went to Gone Bakery & Soup, where it is close to a book store in Whistler Village.

I ordered from their lunch menu, as I thought it would be supper. And, he ordered sweet from their special.

At the end, he ate half of mine, despite he usually doesn’t eat brown rice!
