Every year, the Fair at PNE (Pacific National Exhibition) is held from the end of August to Labour Day in Vancouver. I’m not interested in riding on a coaster or playing games, but I like watching some of the exhibitions and eating food there.

This is another year that Collin and I found time to go there and we had BBQ. Last two times, we had BBQ from Saskatchewan. This time, we decided to try something else, which was Gator BB from Ontario.

This sandwiches were huge! I mean, so much meat! We couldn’t finish them at once, and we did need some refreshment even while we were eating, such as pickles. As they said they didn’t have them, we walked around if any stores carry. Luckily, we found them in either burger or hotdog store, and they agreed to sell some on its own. We really appreciated.

Their meat tasted good. I would order it again, but maybe I want to try rib next time.

On the next day of hiking, I had a Shiatsu appointment in downtown Vancouver. I didn’t want to eat before that, so I skipped lunch. After the appointment, I was walking around and looking for a place to eat, which was after 2 o’clock. Some were closed because of Sunday, and some were not open for the certain time period. Even though I had a Vietnamese restaurant in my mind, close to Davie and Seymour streets, it didn’t seem to open. I kept walking on Davie to the west and found another place.

Pho Goodness is located between Thurlow and Bute streets on Davie street and offers Vietnamese food. When I looked inside, this cozy restaurant was packed. Even after I stopped by bakery shop, it still was. It was almost 3 o’clock and I had to eat something, so I went in and waited.

I ordered from their regular menu.

And, this is a sign on the street for the restaurant.

I didn’t know the noodle soup included tripe until it was served. I’m just not used to the texture and couldn’t eat much. I liked noodles. For the soup, I’m not sure if I wasn’t feeling well or not, but more I drank, faster my heart beat, so I stopped at some point. (I have some heart condition.)

Spring roll wasn’t what I expected. What I wanted to order was a fried roll but with bubbly skin. I asked Collin about it when I got home, and he said that is rice paper. I don’t know if that kind of roll is on their menu.

Collin and I went to the Fair at PNE (Pacific National Exhibition) in 2012 as well. When I wrote a post about this BBQ company last time, I got a comment from the person who probably was the owner or staff. So, I had to try them again! 🙂

There were long line up on each BBQ company, but I insisted we went for Prairie Smoke & Spice BBQ.

We both ordered the same one. No rib this year.

I’m not sure if this time was as good as last time. It was still tasty, but I felt both buns and pork were dry. Price was up from last time.
