I knew about this restaurant when I went to Eat! Vancouver. Since then, they were in my list, because their samples at the event were consistently tasty two years in row. When my friend, who worked in Burnaby, asked me to go for dinner, I suggested this restaurant.

Ebo Restaurant is in The Delta Burnaby Hotel, which has casino. They have $45 Taste of Ebo dinner, so we went for it. You choose starter, entree, and dessert from the dinner menu.

We both chose, Roasted Scallops
(Vanilla and Cauliflower Puree, Jamon Serrano, Capers & Raisins, Aioli Nero)

They serve this scallop dish either as appy or entree. I really love to order this as entree next time. It was so good!

My friend’s entree choice, Roast Lamb Saddle
(Braised Lamb Shoulder, Celery Root Puree, Crisp Polenta, Feta Cheese, with local farmer’s seasonal vegetables)

My entree choice, 10oz Prime Rib Eye
(Certified Angus Beef, Sauteed Seasonal Mushrooms, Asparagus, Roasted Garlic Pomme Puree, Truffled Herb Compound Butter, and Dijon Mustard)

My friend’s entree choice, Chocolate and Pear

I’m glad that I was finally able to taste their food at the restaurant. Their service was great, too. As they said in the menu, they accommodated my request. 🙂

Collin called me when he was still at work, saying make a reservation for whichever restaurant does Dine Out for lunch on Sunday, because his boss wanted to go with us. I picked up a few, and we chose one.

The Sandbar on Granville Island is a seafood restaurant, and it is right under the Granville Bridge. The name is similar to the one in Victoria, but they seem totally unrelated.

They served 3-course meal for $18 for lunch, appetizer, main, and dessert. They can serve gluten free meal as well.

Hoshi’s California Roll
(Dungeness crab meat, fresh cucumber)

This Sushi was a bit disappointing. It was stone-cold, and the rice was harder than it should be. The Sushi bar wasn’t open for lunch, so maybe Mr. Hoshi made them the night before.

Gluten Free Soy Sauce

My and Collin’s boss’ choice for main, Pan Roasted Sablefish
(Yellow Miso glaze, sundried tomato pesto, spiced coconut broth)

Collin’s choice for main, 4oz Chateau Rib Steak & Tiger Prawns
(Caramelized onion marmalade, creamed peppercorn demi-glace)

(It says prawns, but there was only one prawn. :D)

For dessert, Apple Strudel

It would have tasted much better, if the strudel was warmed up a bit…

And, extra pictures to find the restaurant.

Collin’s family took us for dinner while we were staying in Whistler. I have never been to the restaurant, as it is far from the village. Rim Rock Cafe serves both seafood and meat.

We ordered from their regular and special menu.
