Back in May, I read an article about Friday Night Market in North Vancouver via some website. In the middle of June after work, I sent a text message to my friend if she was interested in coming with me, and she was!

Friday Night Market in North Vancouver is (was) held at Lonsdale Quay Pier, from 5 pm to 10 pm. There are lots of food cart gathering, in addition to bakery, products, and produces. I haven’t even been to Night Market in Richmond, so I was excited to go there.

The first street food cart we tried was JJ’s Trucketeria. They serve Filipino food, which I had never tried before. Not only does their food look good on the menu, but also the price was reasonable.

We both ordered this one each. šŸ™‚

The BBQ pork was so good! If this is what Filipino food is, I think I would like them. The one thing I didn’t like was the bun got soggy at the end. I would love to try another dish next time!

My birthday was last week, and my friend told me to get together for dinner and asked me where I wanted to go. As I saw a special course for this restaurant on a coupon magazine, KLIP, and also I wanted to go there for a long time, I said “Maruchu”. Maruchu Japanese BBQ Dining is in Richmond, walking distance from Aberdeen Canada line station.

Japanese BBQ, Yakiniku, is which you cook meat and veggies by yourself. One of our friends wondered why “we” had to do when we came for food to a restaurant, but it is a style and for socializing.

The special course was $35 per person, but if with minimum four, it was $25 per person, which was a good deal, so we ordered the special for five.

Our server said to fold the Kalbi so that green onions were nicely cooked and flavor infused.

After we ate dinner, the lights went off and we all wondered why. And a staff brought some cake, which my friends bought for me, to our table, singing the happy birthday song. Thank you guys!

When we went to a cafe, Apres-Midi Teahouse, in Gastown, we passed by this restaurant and said that we wanted to come here one day. Peckinpah BBQ is just around corner. I picked a few choices to go for lunch on a weekend, and Collin chose this place.

We ordered from their regular menu.

Collin’s drink choice,Ā  Creamy Red Birch Beer

He chose Jalapeno Pork Sausage Hoagie. It comes with one side dish, so he chose Hush Puppies.

I couldn’t choose one, either Mac’n Cheese or Smoked Chicken Sandwiches, and our server recommended to choose Mac’n Cheese and add smoked chicken. So I did.

This was quite a lot, so I took some home.
