After walking for 13km of Stanley Park seawall, my friend and I were tired, besides, we were soaking wet because of a sudden raining storm that we encountered while we were walking. We needed to sit down inside and to warm up, so we rushed into the cafe.

Delany’s Coffee House is on Denman street, close to English Bay. The cafe is warm and cozy, and you can relax for a long time. 🙂 Well, we actually did stay for about 3 hours!

I went to Granville Island on one weekend, and I walked all the way to Denman from there. Because there was one place that I found before and that seemed new, and I wanted to go there for late lunch. Yet, for some reason, it wasn’t open. Well, I was hungry and needed to eat something, so I jumped into the cafe.

Delany’s Coffee House is on Denman street, close to English Bay. They have pastries or stuff. There was a tasteful pie-like pastry, so I asked a lady what it was. I couldn’t catch what it was, but I ordered anyways. 😛 After I started eating, I asked her to spell it for me. 🙂

My friend sent me a link that said the restaurant held 30th anniversary event that offered $30 or $35 3-course food, and she asked me if I was interested. Why not? Although she preferred weekend, I had uncertain plans next two weekends, so we decided to go on a weekday.

The Boathouse is in multiple locations, and we went to English Bay’s. The area was full of people, maybe because of Friday, or maybe because of young people who just graduated. Anyways, we were seated in the window side seat. There were a few big group sitting at tables, so I guess reservation is recommended.

We ordered from their $35 3-course dinner.

I asked medium rare, but it was more like medium. Well, I certainly like medium rare.

The worst thing of my dish was mashed potatoes. You know, I love mashed potatoes! One of the reason that I chose this over my friend’s was mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, this one was inedible. I ate one bite and wondered, and the second and third bites made me sure it was too salty. I told our server, and he brought some in another plate, but it was still inedible. Too much salt. (I don’t think they made new from the scratch, but just game me from the same batch.) Of course, I left them.

And for dessert, we both ordered the same one.
