My friend was expecting a baby in the middle of July, and she had less than four weeks left. I suggested her taking maternity photos, and I had been contacting a few friends or their friends, but at the end, we decided to take photos by ourselves. So, we went to buy some clothes to cover her breast and under abs on a weekday. The store was somewhere on Marine Drive in Vancouver.

After the purchase, we were talking about where we wanted to go for dinner. As I wasn’t familiar with the area, I had no idea. While she drove, I tried to think and asked her, “what about Rajio?” So, we headed! This was on our list since the end of last year. 🙂

Rajio Japanese Public House is on 10th Avenue, close to Alma street. It is in Point Grey area, next to Kitsilano. They are the same restaurant group as Kingyo in downtown. Their concept seems retro, and the primary menu is Kushi Katsu, in addition to Izakaya menu.

We ordered from their dinner menu and special.

I was surprised we can eat this in Canada! Yes, it is hard to bite, but more you chew, tastier it gets.

Grilled Pike Mackerel

In the menu, it was described like peperontino, but it didn’t taste like that to us. Well, pike mackerel was good, though.

Ohhh, I was so happy to eat Kushi Katsu in Canada. As you can see, the oyster was the best for us!

The rice tasted good, although it was a bit greasy.

If I ever want to eat Kushi Katsu, I will go back there! Just a quick note. Pricing below was as of June, and when I checked their site while I was writing this, I noticed the price was up.
