From May to October, there was an event, Friday Night Market, in North Vancouver on every Fridays. On the second week of Friday in October, I searched when exactly the event ended, but each site did say a different date or didn’t mention any. So, I decided to go there anyway, and there were some food trucks there and some tents open.

As October, it was a much colder day. I quickly walked in the venue and looked at which trucks were there. Not many choices. The first one I chose was Roaming Dragon. They serve Pan-Asian food.

Collin and I tried their food at PNE, so I chose something different. I ordered two of this.

Chinese Pork Slider
(Asian spice braised Pork, Pickled Cucumber and Green Onions, Hoisin Sauce, Steamed Bun)

I liked the pork belly. Collin said it was OK, though he usually likes pork belly. Maybe because I waited for him finishing to work so that the food got cold.

Currently, Dine Out Vancouver is held. As part of this, so is Street Food City. If you haven’t tried their food, you have an opportunity at the event.

I went to Friday Night Market in North Vancouver in September as my second time, and I got some food for Collin and myself and had some bites. While I was eating in the rain, I decided to try one more street food cart.

I went for Le Tigre. I tried their rice bowl and wanted to try another topping. They serve west coast food influenced by Chinese cuisine.

I ordered their popular dish again.

Kick Ass Rice with Popcorn Chicken
(Cooked in Sake, butter, Dashi, and topped with a perfect Poached Egg, fresh herbs and Thai Chillies)

The poached egg was cooked perfectly this time. Yup, as I thought, I preferred this popcorn chicken to pork belly. What should I try next time?

In the last September, although it was raining a bit, I decided to go to Friday Night Market in North Vancouver. It was held at Lonsdale Quay Pier on Fridays between May to October. When I headed, I told Collin I would be there and meet me after work.

First, I looked around which food trucks were there, when I got there. There were a few new trucks, but I didn’t feel like eating their foods and went for one of the famous food trucks, which was Feastro. They primarily serve tacos. I watched their food on TV, and since then, it was on my wish list.

Feastro at Friday Night Market

I ordered their primary dish, four tacos, two for me and two for him.

Two Jerk Chicken Tacos
(Jerk Chicken, Tomato & Star Anise Chutney, Shaved Cabbage, Chipotle Aioli, Sour Cream, Corn Salsa, Pickled Jalapenos)

We both liked this tacos. Everything came together, and it tasted so great.

Pulled Pork Tacos
(Slow Roasted & Smoked, Refried Beans, Tomato & Star Anise Chutney, Shaved Cabbage, Chipotle Aioli, Sour Cream, Hand cut Salsa, Pickled Jalapenos)

Tuna Tacos
(Grilled Albacore Tuna, Tomato & Star Anise Chutney, Shaved Cabbage, Miso Aioli, Wakame, Pickled Ginger, Tobiko, Bonito Flakes)

We took those two tacos home, so they looked awful, but it was our fault. We should have eaten at the market. It was raining, and we didn’t want to stay there. Anyways, he ate the pulled pork tacos and liked it, but he preferred jerk chicken. I ate the tuna tacos and really liked it.
