Collin had been asking to go to this place, but it always happened to be Sunday. They don’t open on Sundays. On the last weekend in November, we were finally able his wish to come true.

His wish was to get a baguette from Finch’s Tea & Coffee House. This cozy cafe is on Pender Street and often occupied by many people.

We ordered from their baguette menu.

His choice, Prosciutto
(Prosciutto, Edam, tomato, red leaf lettuce, oil & vinegar)

He asked Cheddar instead of Edam. This is favorite. It had been long time since his last visit, so he enjoyed it a lot and asked me if he should get another one! :O

My choice, Pear
(Pear, blue brie, prosciutto, roasted walnuts)

This is my favorite, and I just can’t choose something new! 😀 The last time when it was a spring time, pear wasn’t ripen yet. This time, it was juicy.

I wasn’t feeling well on and off for quite a while in November, and I was tired of eating light meal. Suddenly, I had a craving for curry, so I decided to get some. Well, I could have made at home, but I was just being lazy. 🙂

I went to ZAC-ZAC Japanese Curry House. They are located in the food court at H-Mart in downtown Vancouver. They are specializing in Japanese curry, but they also have Donburi and Bento box menu.

I ordered from their curry menu to go for me and Collin.

Haha, both looked same! Compared to last time, their to-go container has been changed. For the taste? No change, that’s good. The cutlet was crispy even after I took home.

Like last time when I ordered, they asked the spiciness level, mild or regular, and I didn’t remember which level I had chosen before. Mild seems like little sweeter.

It was a weekday evening, and I had a Vancoupon booklet, so I got 5% off. You can get it at locations in the list here.

For a weekend in the middle of September, Collin and I planned to have an early lunch (or brunch?) and already decided a place to go at the previous night. Well, actually we decided what to order, too. 🙂

Having been excited, we arrived at the cafe, which was Bel Cafe. It is owned by the same person for Hawksworth restaurant and is located in front of Art Gallery downtown Vancouver.

When we ordered the sandwiches we wanted, the staff said those were not available for next 10 min and apologized, because it was before 11 am. We looked at each other and the time seemed to stop. We had a mix feeling of confused, shocked, and lost. When we finally processed the fact, the staff said he would ask the kitchen. At the end, they accepted our order. Although we suggested the website is better to mention that those menu are available after 11 am and he said he would tell the company or owner, the site still doesn’t say, so the conversation was in vain.

The sandwich was fantastic. We really liked them. It is pricy, but if it makes you happy, it’s worth it.
