In early November, it was a clear autumn day. It seemed cold outside, but there was no reason not to go hiking. I went to Quarry Rock in Deep Cove, because I was ready to leave in the afternoon. Skipping lunch, I had some energy bar at the top of the rock, and when I came down, I was starving.

I quickly ran into Honey Doughnuts & Goodies. It was packed by people, maybe because it was off-season and not many places were open till the late afternoon, and also the temperature dropped dramatically and it was super cold. The famous honey doughnuts were out-of-order, and people were waiting for 15 min or more to have doughnuts ready.

I ordered from the homemade soup.

The hot homemade soup made my body warm up, and the bread helped my stomach filling. Besides, the soup was tasty and enough amount as snack.

On the BC Day long weekend, Collin had a fay off, and we went hiking together. As he said he never hiked Quarry Rock in Deep Cove, we went there. It is one of the easier hiking trail to me.

After coming down, we went to this cafe to have brunch. Honey Doughnuts & Goodies is famous for their huge honey doughnuts, but they also serve lunch, such as soup, sandwiches, etc.

We ordered from the today’s special menu.

I liked their hash browns that include some other veggies in addition to potatoes.

I went hiking with two of my friends to Deep Cove. One of them told us that there was a store where sells portable Onigiri (rice ball) made in Korean way. Although she didn’t remember the store name, we found Onigiri at the bubble tea store on Gallant Avenue.

I’m still not sure what their exact store name is, but pictures of their window top says Express Bubble Tea, so I used that. čśŤ We went there after hiking, so we also shared shaved ice. (It was August.)

We can choose either tuna or crab. We all chose tuna. The seasoning was in Korean way, so I can taste sesame oil.

Shaved Ice

I don’t remember what kind of taste each colour was, but we all liked the yellow-green one.

And, an extra picture of the view from the store. It was cool that miniature train was running around at top of window (below the roof).
