I wasn’t feeling well on and off for quite a while in November, and I was tired of eating light meal. Suddenly, I had a craving for curry, so I decided to get some. Well, I could have made at home, but I was just being lazy. šŸ™‚

I went to ZAC-ZAC Japanese Curry House. They are located in the food court at H-Mart in downtown Vancouver. They are specializing in Japanese curry, but they also have Donburi and Bento box menu.

I ordered from their curry menu to go for me and Collin.

Haha, both looked same! Compared to last time, their to-go container has been changed. For the taste? No change, that’s good. The cutlet was crispy even after I took home.

Like last time when I ordered, they asked the spiciness level, mild or regular, and I didn’t remember which level I had chosen before. Mild seems like little sweeter.

It was a weekday evening, and I had a Vancoupon booklet, so I got 5% off. You can get it at locations in the list here.

I was invited to my friend’s birthday dinner. While organizing the dinner, her friends talked about gifts in Facebook event page, and we decided to bring a birthday cake as a part of it. Her husband requested some light dessert, so I suggested Pavlova. Pavlova is a meringue dessert.

The idea was agreed. Pavlova from Sweet Carrie’s Dessert Shop in North Vancouver is quite famous. It is a bakery store in Lonsdale Quay Market and sells other bakery stuff as well. When my office was close to Lonsdale Quay, we used to buy this Pavlova for staff’s birthday.

The guy on the phone, who has Asian accent was a funny person due to the listening skill between him and me. I enjoyed the conversation with him pretty much. šŸ™‚

While I grabbed some bakery stuff from the cafe, Collin got some Vietnamese food. (He really likes Vietnamese, eh?) When my company’s office was in North Vancouver, I used to get some food from Lonsdale Quay Market for lunch, and this Vietnamese store was one of them.

Vinam Vietnamese Cuisine offers noodles, fried roll dip, salad roll, noodle soup, etc. Too bad that I didn’t have time to take pictures of their menu to introduce. Maybe, next time. Being said that, I don’t even know how it’s called in their store.

I like the roll at this place more than anywhere else.
