In the middle of September, when I read a free magazine, I found there was an event called Harvest Fair at Moon Festival at Renfrew area, which had held every year and I didn’t know. For my curiosity, I decided to go there. The website on that day got a server error, and I couldn’t get more detail, so based on the magazine, I went to Slocan Park near 29th Avenue Skytrain station.

When I got there, there wasn’t an obvious reception and no one talked to me, so I just walked and looked around. Then I found a community hut where they served some food. As I wasn’t sure what would be going on, I purchased tickets and had some food as dinner.

Nothing special, but it was nice for them to serve food at the event. After I was watching kids playing, I got cold and the soup was helpful.

Eventually, some performances started and I enjoyed the time. In my opinion, Taiko was the best one! At the end (well, I didn’t know it was the last), when a chorus group started singing and walking away from the stage, I followed like everybody else did. It took us as a Lantern Parade towards Renfrew Park. It was supposed to be tea and moon cakes serving there, but I didn’t find any staff to ask where and when, so I left there missing the chance. Actually, as I followed the parade, I didn’t know where I was. I’m glad that I had iPhone running.

As I mentioned, Collin and I were at the Fair at PNE (Pacific National Exhibition) on Labour Day. After we had a light meal, he got some sweets. Instead, I wanted to have more savory food. I took a look at a few stands here and there, but some were too much, and some were too greasy, and I ended up choosing this.

Corn Castle stand offers fresh sweet corn from Chilliwack. I couldn’t find any more information, such as which farm those corns are coming from.

For some reason, Collin wanted to eat, too! Hey, you just ate a half bag of donuts!

Last year, it wasn’t cooked well. This year, I’m glad I did order! It was so sweet and fresh, and wasn’t mushy at all.

Collin and I were at the Fair at PNE (Pacific National Exhibition) on Labour Day and had some drinks and tacos from a street food truck. Now he said he wanted to eat some sweets! We walked around, looking for sweets, and he decided to get some from Those Little Donuts.

There were some automated donuts machines in the store, and mini donuts were produced in a second. I don’t know if they are in another locations in Vancouver or BC, as the original address is Calgary, AB.

I didn’t taste them, but the donuts must taste good, as there were many people buying them. Of course, Collin liked them. He is a sweet tooth!
