My friend and I had dinner at Gastown and didn’t feel like having dessert at that place. Thinking about tea or dessert place, there weren’t any places near Gastown, coming up to my mind, except cheesecake place. So, we decided to walk a bit further, and I remembered this place cafe.
It was Giovane Cafe + Winebar, located in the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel. You can find a big yellow “g” sign at the entrance. There are a cafe counter and a deli counter. At the cafe counter, you can order coffee, tea, or pastries, and you can seat and enjoy them.
We ordered from their dessert menu.
Tea
Her choice, Sacher Torte
According to Wiki, Sacher Torte is a Viennese specialty. It looked so dense. Raspberry gummy (?) was on top, and the gummy or dense jam was inside the cake, too.
My choice, Classic Tiramisu
I don’t know what “classic” Tiramisu means, but I liked this one. It was so soft and light, so you could eat it in sec! :p
And, I took out this for Collin. This is his favorite. 🙂
Sugar Bun
(Sugared sweet bun filled with vanilla pastry cream)
It is nice to know a quiet cafe that opens until late.
