Collin’s family took us for dinner while we were staying in Whistler. I have never been to the restaurant, as it is far from the village. Rim Rock Cafe serves both seafood and meat.
We ordered from their regular and special menu.
Appetizer
Oyster half dozen
Sauteed Wild Mushroom Salad, delicate greens, sesame vinaigrette & shoestring potatoes
(I forgot to turn off the camera flash…)
Collin’s choice, Seared Scallops & Roasted Pork Belly with an apple Miso puree, sherry vinaigrette
My choice, Tartar of Filet Mignon, fresh chopped raw beef, seasoned with onion, mustard, caper & parsley
Main Dish
Porcini Dusted Steelhead Trout from the special
Rack of Lamb, garlic, tomato, mushrooms, provencal herbs & shallot red wine jus
Collin’s choice, Rib Eye Steak, 12 oz certified Angus served with gorgonzola & cipollini onion confit
My choice, Shellfish Pot au Feu, lobster, scallops & prawns in an heirloom tomato fondu, mushroom & spinach risotto
After main dish, we decided not to have any dessert, but our server brought a dessert as a service, because of noise from kids sitting near by.
